It’s a fact that affluent, confident, politically active women of color regularly attend events hosted by Behind The Leaf and Flourish Media. We like to think women of a certain age and background understand how important it is to invest in community building. Our tribe participate because they feel supported by our ever growing network of professionals who value kindness, honesty, and education.

Being a Graphic Designer is not something that I intended, it was in my nature without knowing it. The ability to simplify and give the masses information, and messages gives is an incredible responsibility. This responsibility is something I take very seriously.
Behind The Leaf serves this community by providing free workshops and paid conferences to expose women business owners to useful tools readily available to their non-minority and male counterparts. There are many strategies available to female small business owners but the lack of access, in the form of delivery and implementation, has become a common obstacle.
Flourish Media is on full throttle, one stop after another! This past weekend we said hello to the wonderful city of Atlanta, GA. On June 22nd, we hosted our book fair for women authors, PublisHER. This platform is a one day event where you’ll meet some of your favorite women authors, purchase copies of new releases along with book signings, and you hear from professional panels on the art of self-publishing and writing.
Businesswomen have to decide what kind of brands we want to build. We have to decide if we want to be the latest sensation or the industry standard.
I wear a couple of hats at Flourish. As I’ve acquired nearly 8 years of experience in Business Development, I consult with prospective clients, identify their marketing needs, and demonstrate how Flourish’s services can assist in achieving their organizations goals.

It was Flourish Media‘s first time in Cincinnati, but we didn’t feel too far from home! Everyone was very welcoming and especially kind at the Pretty Professional Conference. Even random people, such as our Uber drivers and restaurant employees were very helpful and nice to the team. Having lived in St. Louis myself for four years, it is no doubt that the Midwest is home of the friendliest people and communities. We loved the tight niched community that we experienced in just 4 days!
